It’s now the time that Money Smart Week partners are coming together to plan Money Smart Week 2016. Mark your calendars as the date for Money Smart Week is set for April 23 – 30, 2016!
We had our first planning meeting on October 8, 2015. The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago provided a good overview of how we did with Money Smart Week 2015. In addition to the 2015 wrap-up, we are looking ahead to a few new objectives all designed to help spread the word of financial literacy and the many resources available to help consumers be money smart.
For our regular readers, you’re familiar with my involvement with Money Smart Week. But, for visitors, let me briefly share what Money Smart Week is all about. In brief, Money Smart Week is a week that is filled with a wide range of personal finance workshops and classes made available to the public for free. Best of all, these programs are held throughout the U.S. in libraries, not-for-profits, schools, banks, and businesses. Financial professionals offer attendees FREE educational topics related to money. As a consumer, you can select what program is of interest and register. It’s that easy!
Although the calendar for Money Smart Week is not yet set for 2016, favorite the link at the Find Events on the Money Smart Week website next year. Or, keep your eyes open for a periodic Post from me as I’ll keep readers updated on activities for Money Smart Week.
